Sponsorship

Work contract

An employment agreement issued by an employer. This platform does not provide or sell contracts.

Ranking score

A points-based score used by some pathways to compare candidates.

Invitation to apply

An authority’s decision to invite a candidate to submit an application. Only the authority issues it.

ATS (applicant tracking system)

Software employers use to receive, parse and filter CVs.

Educational credential assessment

An assessment by a designated body of how a foreign qualification compares with local standards.

Regulated profession

A profession that requires a licence or registration from a regulator to practise.

Employer sponsorship

An arrangement in which an employer supports a worker’s permit application, where a pathway allows it.

Official source

A page or document published by the authority responsible for a rule or program.

Proof of funds

Evidence that you have enough money to support yourself, which some pathways ask for. The amount and the accepted documents are set by the authority.

Police certificate

An official document from the police or another authority showing your criminal record, often required with an application. The issuing body differs by country.

Certified or sworn translation

A translation made or certified by a translator recognised by the authority, sometimes required for diplomas and civil documents.

Expression of interest

A first step in some systems, where you register your profile and the authority may later invite you to apply. Registering is not an application and does not guarantee an invitation.

Skills assessment

A check by a designated body that your skills and experience match an occupation, required by some skilled pathways. The body depends on the occupation.
