To help you plan: unofficial, approximate figures
To help you plan, we added practical figures collected from reliable independent sources, each shown with its date. Treat them as a guide: they are approximate and can change, so confirm the final figure with the official source or the organisation concerned before you act.
- Fees. Berlitz, a private exam centre (2026 overview): telc Deutsch group exam B1 €179, B2 €199, C1 €229, C2 €249. An individual exam costs €130 extra. Registration is needed at least 30 days before the exam. Other centres set their own fees.
- Dates. Dates are set city by city. Berlitz lists many for 2026 and 2027, and the level offered differs by date.
- Which exams. The Berlin Volkshochschulen exam centre (page of 16 October 2026) offers telc exams at A2/B1, B2, C1 and C1 Hochschule and no longer offers B1-only exams. It says the Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer is registered in person at the Deutsch-Beratungsstellen of the Volkshochschulen.
- Languages. telc also tests English, French, Arabic and other languages (telc.net).
Worth checking next: exam durations, validity of a certificate, and which telc exam each German residence, nationality or work procedure accepts. Ask the authority that requires the proof before you book.
Certificate examinations, digital exams (DIGItelc 2.0), remote tests and placement tests are listed. Exam parts and durations were not on the page read.
